Tots In Motion Ages 1-4
Nurturing A Love of Dance
Toddlers love dancing with Three Rivers Dance Academy! Tots in Motion classes combine ballet, tap, and jazz technique and creative movement in fun, age-appropriate way that introduce our youngest dancers to dance basics and let them express their natural love of movement. Ages 1-3
1-3 year old students dance in a once-a-week, parent-assisted class that uses props, games, and music to teach coordination, counting, dance and pre-acrobatic skills while focusing on important classroom behaviors like listening to the teacher, following directions, and taking turns!
Ages 3-4
When ready to take class independently, 3 to 4 year-old dancers continue to practice their ballet, tap, and jazz basics and begin learning simple choreography as they prepare for their first performances with Three Rivers Dance Academy in the annual student recitals.
Kinder Stars Ages 4-6
Growing A Love of Dance

Tippy Toes & Tappy Feet
This once a week 45 minute class gives dancers the foundations of tap and ballet dancing.
Bop & Tumble
This once a week 45 minute class gives dancers the foundations of jazz, hip hop, and acro dancing.

Fundamentals Ages 6-12
Building A Strong Foundation
In the Three Rivers Dance Academy’s Fundamentals program, new dancers ages 6 to 12 learn the dance technique, terminology, and skills that provide a strong foundation for future learning. Classes are a combination of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and acro. Click below to get started with a week trial of classes and a free pair of dance shoes!
Ballet & Jazz
Ballet and jazz are foundational dance training styles. Students develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance. All dance styles will refer to ballet or jazz technique and terminology. Fundamentals classes devote 50% of their instructional time to ballet or jazz training.
Tap, Hip Hop, & Acro
The remaining class time is divided between tap, hip hop, or acro dance. In tap classes, students develop rhythm and precision as they learn to move their feet to the beat. Hip Hop dance training helps students develop rhythm and coordination. Acro dance training helps students develop strength and flexibility.
Youth Leveled Classes
Late Beginner to Intermediate to Advanced
After mastering the fundamentals of dance, youth continue to develop their skills and have additional training opportunities as they progress through higher level classes. New students with previous dance experience may also be accepted to more advanced level classes after being evaluated by an instructor.
Leadership
Youth accepted to our Emergent program or above are also considered part of the Three Rivers Dance Academy’s leadership team, charged with supporting the positive, character-building community we've worked so hard to build at the studio.
Emergent Level
Emergent Level students add additional skills and training to the foundation established in their fundamentals class. Dancers are in 2 weekly classes that teach advanced beginner skills.
Progressive Level
At the Progressive Level or late beginner-early intermediate stage, students devote additional time to each style, having the opportunity to enroll in up to 6 different classes in a program devoted to training in ballet, jazz, and more.
Intermediate & Advanced Level
Intermediate and Advanced Level dancers become more focused on their areas of training and have the option to add on pre-pointe and pointe classes. Intermediate and Advanced dancers may also receive additional leadership experience by assisting with pre-dance or fundamentals classes.
